Although this is Chad Serhal's debut release, he is no stranger to album recordings. Serhal spent years touring and recording with Calibretto, and his bass instrumentation can be heard on In the Dark, the first album from Harley Poe. Additionally, he played guitar in Everything, Now! and traveled with the band on their 2006 national tour in support of Police, Police! The Last Picture Show, a collection of stories shaped by geography and happenstance, is foremost a folk album, reminiscent of very early Bruce Springsteen or Paul Simon and on par with contemporary artists such as Denison Witmer and Damien Jurado.
