It'll rock your socks off, just like the title says...

"Charity and the JAMBand are an eclectic collection of performers, including Charity herself who is a mother of two children, a singer, a songwriter, and a mathematician. "Rock Your Socks Off" is her fourth album.
Charity's voice is sultry, versatile and beautiful. The band members's musical abilities are so full and intricate. I fell in love with this album, and through it my children get to have a more sophisticated experience of music than the typical toned-down children's cd.
I appreciate Charity's messages: essentially, love yourself and let it rip. In the "love yourself" category, "Whatacha Gonna Bring" celebrates our true selves, encouraging us to come to the party as we are. It's a fabulous reminder that we're perfect as is. So serves "Super Hero" - a song that points out the unique super powers in us all, even the oft-ignored characteristic of "puttin' a smile on someone else's face." Yes! Spreading happiness is, indeed, a super power.
The cd's not-to-miss song is "Towel Tango," a dangerous, unique, luscious song about self-expression using a towel as a prop. The sound is overboard and humorous and unavoidable - a real dance draw.
And when you must go out and save the day
Your towel can even be a magic cape
No need to pack your super power
It lives within you everywhere you go
"We Need Mud" isn't a toe-tapper, it's a fist-banger. You'll want to stomp, preferably in mud. Charity encourages: "We need our bare feet, we need our hands, can you smash it?" A chorus of children yells in response, "Yeah! Yes we can!"
In spite of its sensual tones, this is really a feel-good cd, from "Wish" with its lovely "dream for how the world could be" and "Peace Dream," a prayer for peace with soulful drums. "Breathe in the love, breathe out the peace" the song chants. What better way for children and adults to practice being with others in the world?
Dance and sing to Charity and the JAMBand and see how much energy you'll find in the music. Just make sure you have enough room for the kids to join you! --Caity McCardell"
