CD ReviewsKey Chapter in Career Of America's Cocktail-Blues Master Bill Anthony | North Texas United States | 09/17/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Collectables has finally compiled on CD all of Charles Brown's 1960-68 King label a-sides and b-sides, as well as a few album tracks and Christmas tunes, including the original hit version of "Please Come Home For Christmas". None of this great material has been available in any format over the last 30 years except the Christmas material (in mono). Here, most everything is crystal clear stereo, with notes and recording dates. Add this to your sets of Charles' early 40's Three Blazers sides and his 50's Aladdin classics and then buy everything else you can find! His 80's & 90's recordings, prior to his death in 1999, are truly incredible and soul-shaking."
