CD ReviewsClosest thing to a new Pixies album? Colin M. | London, UK | 12/29/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "This album sounds like some strange and alluring hybrid of The Pixies, Lou Reed when he was still good, Pavement, and Modern Lovers-era Jonathan Richman. The Pixies-thing no doubt happens because Joey Santiago from The Pixies, of course, turns up and plays lead guitars on a bunch of songs. Out of the album's 16 songs, at least 10 of them are really great, and the others don't suck either. Charles is a great songwriter, and Joey's unique guitar playing adds a lot to the album. Best track is 'Blues for Catalina' which sounds like it could have strolled in direct from Bossanova. Statecraft is definitely worth checking out." Great album Jenna Davis | Los Angeles | 06/05/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "great rock album--nice lyrics. favorite song is The Rabbit Never Gets the Carrot."
