Henri Ledroit personifies both the joy of singing and the intelligent delivery of the text, and these qualities, combined with his richly warm and delicate voice, create magic. This recording, which includes Ricercar's 2009 catalog, is devoted to seldom-performed repertoire: the cantatas and airs de cour by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. It also includes several sacred compositions that were among Ledroit's first recordings, and introductory text by Catherine Cessac.
