Gone Glimmering is the best album I own

"When I first heard Gone Glimmering my band was taking a break and my drummer put in the album in his car stereo. The opening track, Nailed to the Blank Spot caught me off guard with the thick guitar sound, a mix of frantic bends and ethereal shimmering, not to mention James Lo's thundering enclave of toms. No wonder my drummer loved this album! Break Up Your Band gives me chills everytime I listen to it, right when the fuzz bass comes in. It's a shame that the band is so underappreciated, even in the snobby indie community, out of 10,000 students at my art/media college I've only found one other girl who's aware of them. It is my mission to spread the gospel of Gone Glimmering as well as Ride the Fader to anyone that finds joy in rocking out to unique, timeless, heavy, and beautiful music. If I were stranded on a desert island god help me if I don't have Chavez in my cd wallet."

"Chavez is one of the most criminally underrated bands around. Gone Glimmering, their first album, is a great introduction to the unique Chavez style: Loud, skillful guitar riffs that are somehow simultaneously off-kilter and just right, along with Matt Sweeney's ethereal and highly catchy vocals. This is an album to turn up very loud and sing along with. Also highly recommended is the second Chavez album, which is equally classic (possibly even a bit better), and the ep Pentagram Ring, which I don't see listed here on Amazon but which is a definite must-buy also."
