Writer-producer Estefano (Paulina Rubio, Azucar Moreno) does well by his muse on "Las Horas Pasan," a high-energy blend of rock and ska rhythms, and "Mariana Mambo," a catchy ditty that's also a shameless rip-off of Lou Bega's "Mambo No. 5" (itself a shameless rip-off of Perez Prado)--right down to the smooth intro and female name-calling. "Hasta Que el Alma Resista" is a mid-tempo pop gem anchored by soaring choruses and guitar-based instrumentation; and "Cuando un Amor Se Va," is a dreamy ballad featuring Panamanian singer-songwriter Ruben Blades. "This album sold 6200 copies the first day it was released in Chayanne's homeland of Puerto Rico!! The arrangements on this album are superb!! So many different instruments and sound techniques are used and the variety of rhythms is wonderful. Simplemente is a great song to start the album with - it "invites" you (by its quality) to stay and listen on (but who needs an invitation??!!) I think my favorite song overall is Candela. It has a great melody and rhythm and I love it when he rolls his rr's as he sings "dejame recorrete entera"!! Cuando Un Amor Se Va (with Ruben Blades) runs a close second. It is beautiful! Their voices together are like milk and honey!! Oye Mar is so powerful with haunting vocal expression - it gives me goosebumps!! We're all going to be dancing to Ay Mama and Mariana Mambo (he's such a tease in this one) - you won't be able to keep still!! Yo Te Amo - is another dynamite song and the one he chose to release to the radio stations to play before the CD was released. His voice sounds so strong and assured on this album. He has outdone himself with "Simplemente"!! I "simply" LOVE it!! Get it NOW and "move your body to the beat" as he sings in the final cut on the album - Boom Boom!!"

"Simplemente was well worth the wait! This is a collection of songs representing emotions that run the gamut from passion to longing to unrestrained joy. I am from Africa and Oye Mar (my favorite) pulls at my heart as I join Chayanne in remembering and yearning for my home by the water. The fast-paced and joy-filled beats of Mariana Mambo and Aye Mama bring smiles of joy and make you tap your foot, clap your hands and move your body. The blending of the voices of Chayanne and Ruben Blades is so effortlessly beautiful that the only way to listen is to close your eyes and hear it with your soul. Chayanne brings to all of the songs included here - Yo Te Amo, Candela, Te Necesito... - the sound of a man for whom passion is an integral part of his being. This is a man who knows love, heartbreak and joy and brings all of those feelings to us through the songs on this CD. He says to us, in a voice that has matured and mellowed, that he understands everything we feel as we go through the ups and downs of life. He speaks to my heart and my soul - Simplemente!"

"After listening to a few of the songs, I decided to order the cd. I love almost every track!! He has a diverse selection of tunes. The most beautiful song has to be Oye Mar, he really goes all out on this one. I think Ay Mama, Boom Boom, y Simplemente are really cute. The mambo one is different too!! you will not be disappointed with this cd!"

"Con canciones de Estefano, Victor Manuel, Donato Poveda y el gran Ruben Blades ( que realiza un duo con Chayanne en este cd),etc., este cd es una muestra del crecimiento artistico de este joven boricua. Si les gusto Atado a tu Amor estoy seguro disfrutaran de este cd ya que provee el balance justo entre baladas y ritmos bailables."
