"sitting here listening to cheap thrills. its 40 something years since this album came out. my first impression all those years ago was that it was one of the greatest rock/blues albums of all time. i thought the band wasn't the best musicians i ever heard and janis wasn't the best singer i ever heard but the music and the vocals were the best "combination of the two" i had heard. sometimes the total is greater than the sum of its parts. i'm sitting here with chills as i hear the opening notes of ball and chain, hearing that voice make pure magic, the band so raw, so young, so pure in its energy. this album is simply one of the greatest of all times. i'm 63 and feel like i did when i first heard it, young and alive"

"
I saw Big Brother with Janice on their farewell tour in Seattle. That fifth of Southern Comfort made her pipes all the better. This CD brings back the memories of that era."
