"Okay, so. Cheer-Accident. They're prior masterpiece was Introducing Lemon, but that has been dethroned by this, Fear Draws Misfortune, an album whose complexity complements its wealth of ideas. Ideas. Not genres. This is not genres. This is Cheer-Accident. You won't find any rock song on here. Nor will you a prog song. Nor a pop song. Nor a jazz song. You won't find any sound in this album that's distinctive from others, a brilliant feat of something not many progressive bands have: COHESION. So, to demonstrate, I've created a poem where Dr. Seuss has joined the band and attempts to umbrella the band in a genre.
If Dr. Seuss played in a math rock band...
...he wouldn't call it
--the band--
A Math Rock Band,
a fort tuned not for toons
nor for loons
but, in lieu, for goons,
shabby ones like their
psychedelipals pruning blue(s)cales.
and sa'ng, "We're new..."
which brings my scales blue.
NowIdayze...
Intwo eyes' gayze of Dr. Seuss
Where they say,
"If eye were in a math rock band,
I wouldn't call it
--the band--
A Math Rock Band,
a fort tuned not for toons
nor for loons
but, in lieu, for goons,
shabby ones--I'm not shabby, though"
Wun--dayze--derkind, he, a man man,
deyed, but,
again,
if he weren't
dead, he'd heed ahead
wyrd (not his sisters') words
into, in truth, in two:
Cheer
connected (: -)
with
Accident.

My, my, hope here!

"My my, hope for an aging progger, looking for new avant prog that continues the artistic endeavors of the giants before them. Yes, I believe that Cheer-Accident are now in full blossom with this release. Very focused, still eclectic, but in an arty, no nonsense combination.
A nice reflection of our past heroes like the Art Bears, This Heat, However, maybe a bit of Magma even, and a little touch of Terry Riley style minimalism. But adding their youth to the equation gets you a heavier, more modern sound. BUT!!!!!!! not so heavy that it's really Metal with intricacy. This is compositional music, that uses modern, deep dissonance as a tool, not a "trick" of trying to sound current. And with that slightly Canterbury influence, you get that "can't get enough of it" kind of balance.
Ah, there's hope still for this old hippie to find new music that can inspire as our yesteryear gods have for years. Thank you Cheer-Accident!"
