"I feel very awkward considering that this is my first Chemical Brothers purchase. I don't normally get singles, but this one intrigued me. "It Began in Afrika" is one of the coolest, most mind-bending songs out there, second only to the Brothers' upcoming "Star Guitar" single. The neatest thing about this single, even though it's only 16 minutes in length, is that you hear something new every time you listen to it. The 3-minute Radio Edit is a nice thing to listen to if you're one of those people who don't like too much repetition, but I think that the 8-minute full version gives the Brothers more time to put together a song structure and not jump right into it. The b-side, "Hot Acid Rhythm 1" may even be better than the other two tracks. Another notable thing is their creative album art. I really like a music artist who puts effort into their album art and techno performers seem to do that a lot. I look toward their upcoming album, "Come With Us" with great interest."

"The day that It Began In Afrika was released was a time of chaos, destruction but still the Chemical Brothers were feeding out decent dance, even on the horrible date that everyone remembers...September the 11th 2001. This song shows a true fact(with incorrect spelling)about how it all began in afrika. I myself own this single and im going to give you a quick rundown of it:Track 1: It Began In Afrika (Radio Edit) - 3:35: O.K this is alright for a true dance fan who dosen't like a song too repetitive, but otherwise the album version is way better.Track 2: It Began In Afrika (Album Version) - 8:39: Here it is, the Chemical Brothers second best song on their new album 'Come With Us'(next to denmark)this song shows what you can really do if you mix several genres together to form not an album but a song!Track 3: Hot Acid Rhythm 1 - 5:04: One of the few Chemical Brothers acid songs, Hot Acid Rhythm, like its cousin Base 6 (from the Star Guitar single) show the D.Jing duo totally pushing their talent to its limits as the beat pushes on throughout the whole 5 minutes of the song.I recommend this for a Chemical Brothers fan or just a collector of their merchandise because this happens to also be limited, so you'd better grab your copy soon before this single is extinct.Signing Off Now,
