"Cheo Feliciano's 1971-82 recordings for Vaya Records (a Fania subsidiary label) represent one of the label's most prolific and exciting chapters. Cheo is equally good as both a Salsa sonero and as a romantic Bolero singer and this 2-CD set showcases both sides of his vocal artistry intelligently and with finesse. It's also worth mentioning that this collection's producers also included some seminal Joe Cuba and Eddie Palmieri recordings which form an important part of Cheo's repertoire and whose success undoubtedly helped pave the way for Cheo's legendary solo career. If you want to know why Cheo is revered as one of Puerto Rico's greatest singers and also get the cream of the crop of his classic 1960s and '70s recordings then waste no time in getting this package.
