"I am the artist who wrote and song the song (Stoop Down Baby), I think i made a lot of people all over the world forget about their troubles, I made a lot of Black and White people forget about fighting just long enough to laugh at (Stoop Down Baby), For every person i can get to laugh and have fun, Most Likely that is another person that just might not go out and hurt somebody, because happy people verry rarely blow up churches are set fires or lynch any body while they was having fun. So anybody that want to have some fun in their lives, this is a great CD to buy, it's a little Risque but a lot softer than most of the Rap songs of today, Trust me you will enjoy it as much as the 5+Million people that have already bought it, It have been a number one seller for 27 years, so it must be telling a verry powerful and funny story so CHECK IT OUT. Forever Yours The Stoop Down Man, Robert L ( Chick Willis )."

"....you just have to have seen one of his concerts, (like I was fortunate to stumble onto whislt I was in my bachelor years) or in one of those small blues joint when the jam played and 'the moment' hit. Lemme tellya, Springer ain't got nothing on a Willis concert. Nor does an MTV Spring Break series. I don't, nor do I ever pretend to be, nor do I act like being an expert on anything, but this I can say. People generally had a lot of fun whenever Willis jammed....Mebbe, just mebbe everyone else is catching up to where Chick has already been. Like the gentleman below sez, that has to count for something..."

"To begin with I would like to say that Chick Willis tells the true things that happen in our lives. That's the great thing about the Blues it tells it like it really is and you won't find that in any other kind of music. There is nothing in his songs that mention anything about killing or drugs only everyday events on the positive side.Chick's songs are refreshing and when you listen to the lyrics they are tell a story about something that I'm sure has happened to you. If you are a true Blues lover you will enjoy everything that Chick does. How much more down to earth can one get?"

"While addmittedly this album is certainly not for everyone, it definitely has it's place in the History of Blues Recordings. If you have never experienced a real Black American Blues Singer in a totally Black American Juke Joint setting, then you probably will not understand this recording, much less enjoy it for the humorus offering that it is. I have known and worked with Chick Willis for many years and have seen him perform all over the world to audiences from 500 to 20,000 and he has never failed to Entertain and excite the audience and I have never seen one show that he did not receive a Standing Ovation and encore for. Let there be no mistake, Chick Willis is a great Entertainer, whether or not you like his songs. While Stoop Down Baby may be his biggest HIT recording, it certainly does not begin to portray the quality of this man as an entertainer. Granted, his guitar playing is not that of B.B. King, but it is flambouyant and audience pleasing whereever he performs.Unfortunately for Chick Willis, his record labels have never really pushed his better material such as Whats to become of the World ? and I Can't Stop Loving you, two songs which really showcase the inner Chick Willis. They have chosen however to promote and expose his risque songs to fit a mold and a pattern which they find easier to market albeit to a smaller but guaranteed market limited unfortunately to primarily Mom & Pop style record shops in the Black communities.Thankfully enough copies have made their way over to college radio stations that were brave enough to play them even with their risque and campy lyrics, creating an underground but loyal following of Blues fans for Chick over the years. In it's worst possible light, Chick's Stoop Down Baby is light years better than most Urban Rap music being heard on the radio today. It is too bad that artists like Chick Willis are simply labeled bad because some unknowledegable so called BLUES CRITICS with their own self appointed authority decide to write bad things about the artist or his music without ever understanding it or the artist. By All means, Don't let Stoopdown Baby be your "ONLY" exposure to Chick Willis, buy some of his other great recordings like Holding Hands With The Blues, you will find him a very refreshing artist indeed.Black American Blues, Jazz and Gospel is considered around the world to be America's ONLY contribution to World Culture, therefore we should be encouraging artists like Chick Willis to continue writing and performing this wonderful indigenous music whether or not each particular song is to our personal preference and taste, Different Strokes for Different Folks."
