German girl rock without the grrl

"This is my first COS album and it is quite a spectacular venture into electronic pop territory. If I had to describe Chicks on Speed I would have to say that they are poppy, electronic, artzy, poetic, spoken word stream of consciousness, dancey, and even sultry and jazzy -- and that is a mouth full. They combine the sensibilities of some(times) German Kraftwerk sequencing, act like they are on the B-52's "Planet Claire" eating rock lobster, throw in some Laurie Anderson observations, edge into female "Kill Rock Stars" territory, and bring it all back to earth with this grounded electronic ambience that is very listenable -- over and over. RIYL: German rock, grrl rock like Le Tigre/Bikini Kill, Laurie Anderson, Ladytron, Crystal Castles, Tiny Magnetic Pets and the B-52's. Just buy it and try it. There is lot of music on these two disks. If difficult to find here, there are a number of other alternative outlets."
