"This CD is the best of Buarque's carreer. The title track is a contundent social claim, using only a few words. Other tracks, such "Valsinha", are pungent love songs. And the tunes are very, very gorgeous. Masterpiece is the right word to describe this work."

"When you are in business you are supposed to grow more mature. This is very difficult for Chico Buarque, who 30 years ago was already one of MPB stars, still fighting the (now long dead) military government. You have a mix of political (Deus lhe pague), quotidian (prize-winning Construcao), lullaby (Acalanto) and romantic (Valsinha) in one of his best works"

"Not only for the music, but for all the historical period of Brazil at that time, Construção, is one of the five most important albuns of brazilian music!"
Wonderful!

"Great album, worth having! Although the music might seem a little strange at first to someone unaccustomed to the sounds of Brasillian music, i definetly recommend it. The melodies are beautiful, Chico's voice is very pleasant, and the lyrics are great - do try to find a translation you you don't know Portuguese, it's worth it!
