One of the brightest new stars of Brazilian music

"This CD is a must-have for serious Brazilian music lovers. In my humble opinion, Chico César-- along with others such as Carlinhos Brown and Lenine--is the future of Brazilian music, taking up where Caetano and Gil left off. Chico skillfully blends traditional music styles from Northeastern Brazil with reggae, African and funk, to name a few. He is a much-sought-after songwriter, with some of Brazil's top divas literally fighting over his songs. From the African-tinged "Benazir" and "Man'dela" to the moving ballads "A Primeira Vista" and "Anjo da Vanguarda", this CD is a musical map, and would be a great addition to any collection. (The only reason I gave this CD 4 stars is because his next CD, "Beleza Mano", is even better!)"
