"This is a pretty good album - not the best reggae funk album around but a good obscurity.
Being more interested in the funk-reggae of the album than the sweet soul songs, the best tracks are funky buttercup, candy, in the rain and several pretty good bonus cuts. Actually, some of the bonus cuts are the best tracks on the album, featuring some good drum breaks. There's also some good soul-ish versions of reggae classics such as Delroy Wilson's Dancing Mood and Alton Ellis' Girl I've Got a Date.
A couple of the tracks are too sweet soul for my liking - with the vocals not being gritty enough. But a few gems make up for this. Unfortunately, some of the best Chosen Few songs the group ever recorded aren't on this album - such as their reggae version of the Delfonics Break Your Promise and a couple of other rock steady groovers."
