Synopsis

Product Description
There is still a poignant melancholy and bold sincerity that permeates all of Garneau's music, but those qualities are augmented by a playfulness in his melodies and arrangements. Garneau's extensive cast of characters unavoidably comment on the social and political forces that pull us unpredictably through time while rollicking to the rhythms of an organ grinder. Two previous tracks licensed to "Grey's Anatomy"; one licensed track to "The Practice" and "So You Think You Can Dance". RIYL: Thao Nguyen, Rufus Wainwright, Elliott Smith, Xiu Xiu.

CD Reviews

One of the best releases of 2009!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Let's face it, this year we've been plagued with a bad economy and even worse BAD music! I mean do you hear what's being played on the radio nowadays!? And in my humble opinion, some of the promising artists from years past have released mediocre music this year. I won't name names because I want to be nice.

And so it seemed like music was dead to me so far for 2009 until I came across a few albums lately. And one of them is Chris Garneau's sophmore effort. I will admit that I was a bit hesitant at first because I wasn't too impressed with his first album. Duncan Sheik producing it wasn't helping matters. But I will say that the review Pitchfork gave his first album was a bit too harsh. Hopefully they'll play nice with this second new one.

La Radio is thankfully produced by the artist himself and kept under a roof of pure artistic magic! To compare him to Sufjan Stevens would be lazy journalism. I feel Chris Garneau has made a great 2nd record and it truly stands on its own!

If you're into genuine from the heart type of music then check this out!"
