Okay album from last year

"It was a okay album. I think it deserves about a 3 Mics.
It is good lyrically and has good beats by Chris Lowe but it lacks punch and it makes you sleepy and is kind of hard to listen to. Has very little replay value. You still must root for the guy though because at least he came correct."

"As it says in the preview of the album Chris was a producer back in the day and he's nice with the flows aswell. He's kinda similar to Large Professor, just abit more party orientated. His flows simple but tight. The production on this is also top notch, real laid back jazz influenced one minute then neck snapping hard beats the next. It a lovely mix that makes this a brilliant and easy listen. It opens with a brief intro then its straight down to business with "Streetwatch" a min+half verse over a killer beat. If you dig that you're gonna love the whole album. Its all the great breakbeats that were being used throughout the '93 to '97 era over new samples and sharp scratches. Next is one of my favourites "Uncut Raw" feat.Large Professor, an excellent collabo from 2 legends that show the new cats how you should ride on a beat. "Let's Go" feat.Fort Knox is an uptempo party track that would bless any club. Next is another smash "Buckwhyin" feat.PMD, it really doesnt get any better than tracks like this for me. "Funny Fake Snakes" is his take on all the fake people that he came across when coming up, dark and moody. The mood is lifted immensely by "Get It Goin' On" and "Round & Round", 2 breezy summertime feeling tracks that are laidback were CHRIS sounds so comfortable that he probably recorded his verses lying down while chilling out. After the brief history lesson when he lets you know that he created the "Skull snap" breakbeat. For those unfamiliar with the name you'll hear it and go DAAAMMNN, that was him??? "Chris Cosby vs. DJ Cash Money" is where this jack of all trades jumps behind the 1's and 2's to showcase his talents against his friend DJ Cash Money. Outstanding beat and scratches. "Treacherous 3" feat.Sadat X & Dinco D (from Leaders of the new school)and its like it stepped straight out of a timewarp. All 3 mcs captivate the smooth beat with old school-esque flows and make this one of the standout tracks here. "Hurt It" showcases one of Chris' best solo joints were he rips the track to shreds over a bone crunching beat. "Rewind The Time" feat. Carl Thomas and "Never Heard It Like This Before" are the very definition of SMOOTH. The album ends with 2 cool tracks "One Liners" feat.Tall T and "Do It Again" feat.Stezo, Dooley-O & Tall T where his friends jump on the mic and represent themselves lovely. Smooth flows, clever wordplay, catchy metaphors and sharp production are the blueprint of "Black Life" from start to finish. Old school mc with a New school flavour."
