"Many became familiar with The Boys Choir of Harlem through their singular contribution to the music of James Horner in the Civil War drama "Glory". I had the pleasure of seeing the group in concert shortly after the film's release and must attest to their brilliance. Like a chorus of angels, the ensemble of highly trained youngsters, under the admirable tutelage and direction of Dr. Walter Turnbull, were flawless in their execution, mixing remarkable vocals and crafty choreography. This collection of standards and traditional tunes is just right for the season. For the jazz connoisseur, there is a swinging trio accompanying the boys: James Williams on piano, Peter Washington on bass, and Tony Reedus on drums. Guest Dianne Reeves adds her distinctive pipes to "O Holy Night", "The Christmas Song", and the emotional "Sweet Little Jesus Boy".Although the release is over a decade old, it is a perfect example that talent and music is timeless. It is as fresh today as it was upon its initial debut."
