"Like a harvest from the fertile fields of the midwest, singer/songwriter Chuck Suchy provides us with bumper crop of topnotch songs on his CD "Dakota Breezes". This collection also includes the album "Much To Share", for a total of 18 selections. All, with the exception of the traditional instrumental "A Shottis Medley", are written and sung by Suchy, backed by his own accomplished guitar playing and a variety of appropriate acoustic instruments. His themes are familiar ones to anyone who has spent time in rural North America: the joys and sorrows of farming, community events, local characters, family, hope, and love. Suchy has a gift for the turn of a phrase that makes the entire collection a pleasure to listen to. Particularly touching are "The Story of Hazel Miner", about a young heroine from Oliver County in west central North Dakota, and "Three-In-The-Afternoon" that evokes "the hurt of leaving the land". He provides a variety of song styles from slow ballads that showcase his unique vocal talent, to spirited, jaunty tunes guaranteed to set your toes tapping. This CD is musically satisfying and spiritually uplifting."
