"Cindy Mizelle is one of the most sought-after session singers in the industry. That makes her a singer's singer, so it's no surprise she'd have vocal skills beyond compare. And her self-titled CD, released on EastWest Records in 1994, certainly proves that. Ms. Mizelle brings her listeners into a musical world where the joy and the pain of love intermingle -- from giddy anticipation ("Imagination") to the sad reality that love sometimes just ends ("I've Had Enough"). The songs are easy to listen to -- written by luminaries such as Denise Rich, Brian McKnight, Gerald Levert, and others, including the artist herself. Vocally, Ms. Mizelle is tough to top. Her voice is brilliant -- from quiet, sweet, almost subdued -- to big and powerful. While this CD was released at a time I personally feel music was beginning a painful descent into an abyss of mediocrity, CM was, and still is, a breath of fresh air."
10 stars - 1 for each song

"I have over 1300 full length R&B CD's. This is in my top 5. Anyone with an extensive collection has a CD that flopped yet they still love it, like I love this one.
Production is by Arif Mardin, (Norah Jones) Brian McKnight, Gerald LeVert, LeMel Humes (Miki Howard) and other well known producers.
I cannot rave enough about this stunning set. There is not one weak song. In fact as much as I love Anita Baker and Regina Belle, I would have to say that this set surpassess any of their CD's. High praise indeed and I'm not exaggerating. Unfortunately, this CD was too mature (too good) for the stupid music public and it flopped.
It's still available cheaply on Amazon ($2)& Ebay, but it is starting to get rare, so at the current price, I wouldn't be waiting as the price will only go up and this will not get another release."
Cindy, not just a session singer

"This cd is great. I regret I didn't buy it when it first came out. I had always known that she was a session singer (Luther Vandross & Melba Moore are just 2 to mention). Her vocals are incredible and she has great, extensive range. A must have in your record collection."

"Cindy is a very well known backing singer. This is to my knowledge her only solo CD. She has a strong voice and the songs are good and fine soul. "Smile" is a duet with Gerald Levert. It's a good buy, but rare to get"
