CD Reviews

The Flawless "Hum"
Theodore C. Ryan Jr. | Lakeport, California United States | 09/16/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Perhaps the best blend of musical styles ever. Start with a violin, add a rock guitarist, plus a jazz/rock based rythm section, a waning voice, and some hints of techno and here you have it. All these elements are combined perfectly by this band, into one seemingly perfect "hum". Everything is simply flowing together in a stream of sound, which is helped by the fact that they record all their stuff on analog. This band is without flaws, and takes you through the widest variety of emotions I have ever experienced with a single album. But perhaps all this is too vague a description? So here goes something a little more concrete. They are a very emotional band, it seems as though everything is brought on by feeling and intensity. The violinist and the vocals are the most pronounced aspects of their sound, where as the guitars and drums provide a solidifying base. I'm sorry I can't describe it any further, but they are absolutley god-like, and must be heard in order to be appreciated fully, buy this album you will not regret."
Who needs sex when you have Clann Zu?

"Y'know - I've sat down for the past 4 hours listening to Rua over and over again just being completely flabbergasted.

Then I got angry because it was flawless.

And I hated the fact it was perfect.

Because there's no perfection in the world.

Or so I thought.

Then Clann Zu did it - and changed my perception on things.

People, the album is just f-ing perfect. Music orgasms. Over and over again. And I wish I had more significantly journalistic critical adjectives to describe the album and fancy smancy ways of comparing it to other bands and all the technicalities of it musical wise but I really don't.

It's an amazing album.

Forget Sex. Forget Krispy Kreme's.

This is it. Nothing beats this.

And yes, it's THAT good."

"This band combines so many different styles of music together, and they do it so well, that the music seems to jump out at your ears into a sound stream of perfection and brilliance."
