CD ReviewsPretty Good early 90's synth collection J. Bilby | Kingston, New Hampshire United States | 03/22/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "Thanks to the likes of Amazon.com and MySpace I found this artist again.
I was a big fan of her earlier band Propaganda back in the middle 80's and to a lesser degree ACT another formation she got into. She is still recording to this day with onetwo, another highlight. A German singer who went to England, she has an unforgettable voice. Some of her material I can hear Kate Bush in her vocal style and thats not a bad thing considering Kate Bush seems to have backed away from her recording career while raising her child. Claudia's music really got me with the propulsive Propaganda style, industrial power pop and synth treaments dominate the music, one of the best of the 80's styles. Love: and a million other things finds Claudia Brucken's first solo collection a mix match of mostly synt/dance styles but I had hoped for more aggressive sounds, still there are many quality songs here, "kiss like ether", "Absolut(E)", to name a couple. I'm sure this will grow on me in the months ahead, it is a very highly regarded collection and the price of this CD has gone over $100.00US dollars? I currently enjoy the Oceanhead mixes she was involved in and the onetwo project shes touring with co founder Paul Humphreys of OMD fame. A voice with very few peers." |
