Second Effort: A Gem

"You might want to see my review of Clear's initial effort with the same title - viz., "Clear." It is not usually the case that a group of musicians produces a second album that is better than the first, especially when the first approached perfection. But in this case, Clear's "Follow the Narrow" surpasses its first effort, yet in a delightfully different way.



Members decided to showcase their acoustical talents. All are very talented; and they did a great job. From the title track "Follow the Narrow" to the last, "End of the Day," this is a symmetrical work that you will want to sit down and listen to all at once - and more than once. It is obvious that a lot of work went into this second production.



I don't know what the future holds for Clear. Perhaps, as I suggested in my earlier review, they feel that this was it and that God has led them separately to fulfill his call upon their lives. But young people like this - who want to follow the gospel mandate to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength; and who strive to love their neighbors as themselves - excite me. (I teach Christian college students their age.) They have talents that can take them far in life by the world's standards, but they have given their lives to Christ and the Kingdom. May God bless each one of them with vision, courage, and wisdom in the years ahead."
