A jewel... and a must

"Muzzio Clementi (1752-1832), born before W.A. Mozart, and who survived Beethoven, was one of the most famous pianist of his time. His work was most respected and admired by Beethoven himself, and is really worth attention for anyone looking for hidden treasures "en dehors des sentiers battus", despite what Mozart may have thought and said during the 2 composers 1781 confrontation. This record contains three of the largest and most famous Clementi sonatas. Their themes, powerful and inspired, offer a texture of great harmonic richness, that compare very well, in their very meaning, with the greatest sonatas by Haydn or Beethoven. I bought this record 8 month ago, and it quickly, almost instantaneously, became one of my greatest favorite amongst my collection (comprising more than 2000 LP's and CD's), along with the "Etudes Symphoniques" of Schumann by S. Richter. It seems like that I cannot spend a few days without it and not feeling a void setting-up, that only one of those 2 CD's can fullfill. This is a must. Thank you Pietro De Maria and Naxos. When is the next one. Moreover, I would still recommend it if it were USD50, and it's only $6!!!"
Great!

"What a nice pre-Beethoven musica! Celementi is truly an inovator, a great composer with new and admirable ideas!
De Maria bravissimo!!!"
