"After wonderful & promising start in 50-ies (which could be heard on album "Cleo's choice") our Dame Cleo continued her growth as an artist and as this album shows, she was never so passionate as in the 60-ies!Althought I did listen almost all of her discography, this is the only place I could find her hit-single "You'll answer to me" and as a bonus there is wonderful one-woman drama "Soliloqui"written with her in mind.People who prefere her later 70-ies output (which was more easy listening and commercial)can be put off with Big Band sound and so much jazz, but don't forget folks, this is the best jazz singer in U.K, and she didn't care for commercial status! The last song on the album is unbelievable "On the clear day you can see forever" and if I can't find the words to describe this experience, I can tell you one thing: I fall in love with Cleo Laine after I heard this song!"

"This is not my favorite Cleo album but The British Sessions highlight Cleo's career in the UK. This album features a little bit of Gershwin with FASCINATING RHYTHM and TEA FOR TWO as well as some Shakespeare Tunes. I love to hear Cleo sing anything but this album does not showcase her talents. You will want to add this to your collection if your a Cleo Fan because the tune I'M JUST WILD ABOUT HARRY is a real gem."
