"Yes, my opinion is somewhat biased. The year was 1982 and I was in garde 8 and in love with this album. I listen to this from time to time. It's not a classic, but its an excellent and enjoyable album. My rating is more sentimental and most Cliff fans would probably give it 3.5 stars. On a different note I find it interesting that Sir Cliff is virtually unknown in Canada, where I live now."

"In reading the other reviews for this remastered edition of "Wired for Sound," I can see both sides of the coin. This is definitely not Cliff's best collection, but it is still representative of the chances Cliff was made (actually, forced) to take to try and succeed in the everchanging music world. This was the early 80s and technopop was on its way in, and Cliff along with his producer Alan Tarney, did their best to try and show that the not so young Richard still had rock in him. As always, though, it's his ballads that work the best. It's interesting to note that Cliff is responsible for the success of Christian singer/writer Chris Eaton, who has crafted some beautiful songs, including Amy Grant's "Breath of Heaven." His contribution on this CD is one of the best songs, "Lost in a Lonely World." All in all, this is certainly worth adding to your Richard collection. "I'm Nearly Famous" remains the best, though!"

"England's Dick Clark (Richard's recording career predates the BEATLES!) was still looking pretty spry and youthful back in the early 80's when he briefly threw his hat into the "New Wave" ring. "Wired For Sound", together with the previous LP "I'm No Hero" actually represents a "second wind" of sorts for the perennial British rocker, already a good twenty-odd years into the music biz at that time. Crisp production and great vocals from Sir Cliff (yes, he's been knighted...are there any British rock singers left who HAVEN'T been?) are the highlights of this set of amiable pop-rock. Richard does some interesting covers, most notably Wreckless Eric's "Broken Doll". Most people (outside of England that is) probably associate Cliff Richard mostly with his pompadoured, early 60's teen idol period, so it is good to see this worthy era of Richard's work getting the re-appraisal and remastering treatment."
