"HERE IS ANOTHER GREAT CD, WITHOUT JOHN HART ON SAX, FROM THE RED HOT LOUISIANA BAND, THE BAND PLAYS WITH EXCELLENCE. NOTICE CLEVELAND CHENIER TEARING THE RUBBOARD UP ON CLIFTONS BOOGIE WOOGIE AND LOUISIANA TWO STEP. PAUL SENEGAL IS AT HIS BEST HERE ALSO, IN ALL THE CDS HE MADE WITH CLIFTON CHENIER, HE IS A GEM! CLIFTON STILL PLAYS HIS HARP ON A COUPLE OF SONGS, REMINDING ME OF JIMMY REED,AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE VERSION OF, I'M A HOG FOR YOU, WHICH HE SINGS HALF ENGLISH AND HALF CREOLE! HE IS SO WONDERFUL IN EVERYTHING HE DOES, BUT HE HAD TO SHOW AT THIS MONTREAUX FESTIVAL IN 1975 WHAT ZYDECO WAS ALL ABOUT!!!!!!!!"

"I don't know all that stuff about who's playin' what, but I do know that I love this live Cd!! The way the crowd picks up on his preformance is a thing to behold....a little clapping first, then a little more and a little yelling....then they just can't stop!....and he plays to it, it's great music and an interesting preformance."

"This was my first Clifton Chenier LP I bought maybe 10 years ago and have been in love with Clifton's music ever since. This was the band that recorded the incredible "Boogaloosa Boogie", sans the great Blind John Hart on saxaphone. Clifton brags, teases and gets down to serious business as he playfully interjects with the appreciative audience throughout. Like the below review, which I whole hartedly agree with, special attention and recognition should be paid to the incredible Cleveland Chenier and his complex, poly-rhythmic tapping, and rattlesnake scraping on his rubboard.....the man was the instrument's greatest virtuoso and turned such a humble instrument into a true one, much the way that artists like Sonny Boy's #1 and #2, Little Walter, Big Walter and others did for the harmonica. Certainly, Cleveland is to the rubboard what Clifton is to the squeezbox. Also Paul Senegal is especially effective throughout on guitar. "Lil Buck" Senegal has always been a favorite of mine and this along with "Boogaloosa Boogie", contains some of his finest blues and zydeco playing. Clifton's sqeezebox and vocals are of course in top form and the fact that one hardly realizes that the great Blind John Hart is not present, really shows how great this band was....it was, in fact, the greatest version of Clifton's Red Hot Louisiana Band."
