"Before Bob Marley was the legend and international musical sensation that he is today, he was a star in his homeland of Jamaica. "Climb the Ladder" provides the listener with a picture of Bob Marley before the international acclaim and superstardom, when he and the Wailers were a Jamaican band just starting out in the music business. What is apparent from these rare recordings is the talent and emotion that would eventually take the young group to the top of first the Jamacian charts, and then the rest of the world's charts as well. This glimpse of Bob Marley in his early years is an oppurtunity that a fan of Reggae must not be without."
Very nice

"This cd, like many, focuses on the Wailers prioe to their mega successes and showcases their raw, yet undeniable, talents. The rude boy, rocksteady, and very early reggae sides chosen for the cd show that Bob had a very forceful (and even somewhat untrained and uncontrollable) voice that meshed well with some of the tougher, more rude boy songs, and a calmer, smoother voice that meshed well with the many love songs he penned.A very nice collection that is well worth listening to."
