The first few tracks on Club Off Chaos's self-titled debut fail to reveal the diverse background of the trio. It's not until midway cuts like "Chichirillo" and "565 F.S." that you realize what's here. The live drumming of Jaki Liebezeit keeps the rhythm going on these dance tracks with a deep bottom end, while Dirk Herweg adds string instruments and Boris Polonski mans the synths. There's a heavy Kraftwerk influence, and it comes as no surprise that Liebezeit was a founding member of Can. Thanks to Herweg's bobbing string effects, there's enough going on here to keep things interesting. --Jason Verlinde
