"The first CD in this set is FABULOUS, the second is CRRRRRRAP! Taucher really gets the trance hitting hard, starting with one of his own tunes, then moving on to such gems as Rank 1's "Airwave" and Paul van Dyk's "Tell Me Why". Ayla's "Singularity" is easily one of the most uplifting tracks on the album, and the mixes are silky smooth. Some of the tracks are very short, but since the CD is a continuous mix, it just floats along. Taucher ends the CD with a very innovative ending to the Adagio for Strings, mixed by Ferry Corsten. The Second CD is very slow funky house, mixed by Knee Deep. The two CDs really don't belong together, in my opinion. After CD1, there's really no comparison. There are some nice tracks on CD2, "Do It To Me Again" by Soulsearcher, "Lucky Star" by Superfunk, "Stop Playing With My Mind" by Barbara Tucker... however, it's just kinda groovy "driving around" type stuff. It doesn't make you wanna get up and dance at all... C'mon Ministry of Sound, you can do better than this!"
Disaster of Sound's Trance Newbie's Guide to Germany

"I don't know if its me who's progressing, or Ministry Of Sound that is heading backwards. I think it might be both. The first ever Trance compillation I bought was M.O.S.'s Trance Nation #1. Since then I have had the chance to listen to several of their compilations. Clubber's Guide to Germany is somewhat just like every other compilation aimed at all these people who are discovering trance for the fist time. They throw in all the standard trax that you've heard everywhere a million times, and know that you're a newbie and you'll like it. So what we have here is 21/20 songs crammed on each CD respectively, which gives birth to mixes that true trance fans would have a heart attack over. For example, mixing two songs together in 7 seconds (ie. CD1 track 11 - St. Etienne - Tell Me Why Mario Piu'- Communication) by simply crossfading is sinking really LOW for any self respecting dj. Another memorable disgrace is CD1 track 07; a 1:15min mix of Sash!'s Just around the Hill.Other than that, if you've just migrated to Trance-land from the world of pop or who-knows what, then this is your dream come true. 41 tracks over 2cds "with no vocals!" - ahh pure bliss."

"okay this cd is pretty awsome. it has two different but equally unreal styles. and for the people whinging about the second cd not being total "trance" get over it. the cd is called "clubbers guide to germany" not "clubbers guide to trance" if you wanted a trance cd then why didn't you just get one. the cd is meant to show the different music styles in germany, and it does VERY well on both cd's. **ASTRIX** for SPILLER MIGHTY MIAMI it's smooooth as silk."
Excellent DJ mix

"I am reviewing this compilation solely on the fact that I like DJ Taucher's music and he is my favorite artist. The first CD is mixed by DJ Taucher which ofcourse is TRANCE oriented whilst the second CD is HOUSE based. I just really care for the first CD. What we have on the first CD is some awesome selection of traxx. Definitely mixed well. There are some new and some old, already popular traxx. The new traxx are AYLA - "singularity / Brainchild II", Taucher - "Allright", Trance Cowboys -"Sea me", Taucher - "Science Fiction" (trancephase mix), M Picotto and M Piu' - "Arabian Pleasure", etc. My favorite traxx are "Allright", "Singularity / Brainchild II", "Arabian Pleasure", "Synaesthesia", "Barber's Adagio for strings", etc. I think DJ Taucher did a good job with track selection and mixing. I don't care for HOUSE music but second CD is worth listening. It is not just plain HOUSE. It has some good sounds. Overall a very good CD. Two great music styles on two good CDs. Buy it."

"i love a cd full of 2 min songs. i love listening to a 1 min intro and then hearing the transition to the next song just as this one is getting going. MOS has a history of cramming their cd's too full of songs just to have them on the slicker. serious trance listeners should demand better."
