He has performed solos throughout the world and performed with many of the world s leading string quartets. Coenraad Bloemendal has performed solos with orchestras through Canada and plays with some of the best chamber ensembles in Canada. This CD presents duos by well-known names from the classical period as well as the world premiere recording (and world-premiere performance) of a piece, based on themes by Bach, written especially for the duo by renowned award-winning composer and jazz bassist Don Thompson. That piece, In Memory of Glenn, is dedicated to Glenn Gould, with whom Thompson, Bloemendal, and Quarrington all worked.
