CD Reviews'Red' hot phoenix_flames@hotmail.com | Portland, Oregon, USA | 06/26/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "A truly great CD. Full of pride. Jimmy Somerville's falsetto and Richard Coles great music make this one of the best things that Jimmy has ever done. 'Tomorrow' and 'There's More To Love Than Boy Meets Girl' give the listener a real feeling of Pride. Though most of the CD is filled with upbeat songs. For a friend is tender and caring, reminding everyone of how the Aids epidemic has effected us all. Over all this is a CD that belongs in every collection." Landmark album Andrew Werling | 10/13/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Personally, I find this to be one of those rare albums to invoke both sorrow and joy in the space of one chorus. I never make it through this one without tears coming to my eyes. Jimmy Somerville was truly blessed with his gifted voice. "Red" ... ." A Definite 80's GEM R. Toomey | Piscataway, NJ United States | 09/19/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is a fantastic album. I'll never forget the first time I heard this. A friend of mine in high school was really into 80's New Wave and he played this to death on the radio station. I never got sick of hearing it. Very powerful vocals by Jimmy Somerville keep you listening. This album includes a great remake "Never Can Say Goodbye" and other fantastic tracks such as "There's More To Love Than Boy Meets Girl", "Tomorrow", and my favorite Jimmy Somerville composition "For A Friend" which is dedicated to a friend who lost his battle with AIDS. A great album of the 80's and not forgotten."
