So Funk Band

"Falling somewhere between Ohio Players and Earth, Wind & Fire, funk band, Con Funk Shun hit with a diverse blend of pop, disco, funk and soul. A groovy guitar lick introduces the party tune "Ffun" including a bright horn section carefully arranged displays the bands driven soul. The ride on "Love's Train" shows Con Funk Shun's diversity, as this swinging ballad changed atmospheres with its smooth bridges for a classic feel. Not as powerful, yet moving "Baby I'm Hooked (Right Into Your Love)" has more a simple R&B chords and arrangement. On "Shake Me And Dance With Me" the bands range is tested by utilizing different genre's textures to create a pop groove as the more so disco "Got To Be Enough". "Got To Be Enough" adds exotic instruments to add the upbeat for times under the hanging reflecting ball from the ceiling with strobe lights as said in the hook "...think about it..." The hard edge ballad "(Let Me Put) Love On Your Mind" has the elements to broaden the group with its rock driven electric guitar. With such tunes as "Too Tight" and "Ms. Got-The-Body" has the feel of Friday night at the popular roller rink showing off moves. As the group eclipse on the quiet storm rhythms on "Make It Last" leaves a lasting impression. It could also lead to an evening of heartfelt 'music' being made as this compiled compilation is topped off by the love song "Straight From The Heart". Con Funk Shun may not be remembered as some of its counterparts of their time but embraces eternity. This is what music is intended to do!"
