A leaf from the tree of Bach

"So many creations with an origin from Bach circling around us. Camerata Koln have produced a very good recording of Bach's oboe concertos and other works (BWV 1060, 1055, 1056 and a blend of 49/169). The performance lasts 56 minutes. Hans-Peter Westermann plays the oboe and Mary Utiger solo violin. The soloists and the ensemble are doing a fine job, but the performance is one out of many in a very crowded field. There are many others performances of equal caliber or better that a listener can turn to. Bach: 3 Oboe Concertos and J.S. Bach: Concertos for Oboe are a few examples. I enjoyed the recording but it will probably be a while before my ears turn to it once again. Besides, I think I am more biased towards the array of Bach's violin concertos."
