Album Description"One of the finest keyboard artists of the twentieth century." -- FanfareRecent (2006) additions to the ongoing Colin Tilney series of Mozart recordings on the historical fortepiano after Anton Walter by Kenneth Bakeman, Seattle, 1983. Internationally renowned interpreter on the harpsichord, clavichord, and fortepiano, Tilney's many acclaimed recordings on Deutsche Grammophon-Archiv, Electrola, Decca-London, Hyperion, Dorian, and DOREMI have established him among the world's foremost interpreters of the Baroque and Classical eras. Earlier in his career Tilney worked in London as an opera coach and as an accompanist to well-known opera singers, experiences that led to a love of the early piano of Mozart, Haydn, and C.P.E. Bach. In 1979 he moved to Canada to teach at the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto. Colin Tilney's chamber group, Les Coucous Bénévoles, has for many years presented concert programs that reflect its members' interest in both eighteenth-century and modern music.
