My all-time favorite CD

"If I had only a handful (or even just one) CD to take with me to a desert island, this one would be it. The viola da gamba playing on this CD is stellar, though if you listen closely, you can hear that it is also highly edited. But that does not diminish the absolute aching beauty of this CD and its gorgeous music.Also check out Hesperion XX's recordings of Christopher Tye, and another all-time fave, Johann Rosenmueller. Hesperion XX is a class act, at the absolute top of its field. I buy ANYTHING by Savall and Hesperion XX sight unseen and am rarely, if ever, unsatisified. I am a professional singer and massage therapist, and I use these CDs in my therapeutic sessions. I never tire of hearing them."
