A Rap-A-Lot real street rap fan...

"Almost anything Rap-A-Lot drop is a classic joint. The Convicts LP is no exception. This was a post-NWA real street hit with 2 real nillaz kickin' some game for the ones that bought the product. Featuring Big 'Money' Mike (before Geto Boys) and 3-2 (before Blac Monks) on the straight up gangsta and the south'n aspect of the rap game and the street. Just got done listening to this CD I had from years ago, and I'm still not givin' this one up like I did my Willie D. (that was dumb...) My fav is "Wash Your Azz" and after riding the bus locked up next to a dope fiend, That part hits home like a mugg! Kickin' the real with a sense of humor, not too many M.C.s do that nowadays. Another joint I play on here is "Illegal Aliens." They made this album 15 years ago or so and that track is still relevent to this day if not more than that! "Sometime, it feels like I'm in a foreign country!" Man, them brothas was just talking about Texas! I don't know if Convicts had a video for the lead and, I think, the only single for this album, "This Is For The Convicts." If they did, it was probably on the BOX back in the day because they were the only station on cable that had pay-per-view music videos and had access to any Geto Boys, NWA, 2 Live Crew, or any hip hop along that line. I wonder where the BOX is now...

Anyway, if you reading this now and you like the screwed-up joints from Rap-A-Lot, hit them an' J. Prince up and ask about the Convicts screwed and chopped version and let's see if we can keep the true classics alive! OHHH, Rap-A-Lot did mess up with one release, but that was 'cause she could do a mean one for a contract!! You know what it is... One"

"another heavy blow 2 th skull assuring yu that NO BODY did it as hard, raw, sincere an suga free az Texuz!!! this album is so graphic, vicious and excessive in its luridly violent desperation an depixion uv Southern dischord! if yu thought it ended with th Geto Boyz think again....thats where it begins! if only they still made Rap of this astounding quality and integrity b4 all th (...) cliches and punchlines came in and th synthetic beats replaced th raw samples and produxion! blame it on (...)DR.Dre along with all th other shat DeathRow put out "
