The hair's good too

"With this single, the best groomed men in England make their eagerly anticipated return. Reminiscent of the streamlined catharsis of The Holy Bible-era Manic Street Preachers, this is a wonderful track. Lead singer Ben Gautrey is sounding less and less like Oasis' Liam Gallagher and working to create a true voice of his own. Also, for all its moments of excellence, 2001's See This Through and Leave occasionally suffered from a complexity overload. This problem seems to have been swiftly dealt with on this evidence, and "Promises Promises" is a furious blink-and-you'll-miss-it attack on rock and roll. Spellbinding."
