Chow down to this mini epic...

"Corduroy formed in 1991 as a sort of a lark - their impromtu performance at a New Years party was so successful that they decided to keep things going. They signed to the Acid Jazz label soon after and produced their first album Dad Man Cat, a funky combination of wonderfully cheesy organ, Sergio Mendes-style percussion grooves and childishly simple melodies. This is the kind of music that makes you want to put on a frilly shirt and some sequined flares and shake those maracas.
This "best of" album is a great introduction to the band (and hence recommended), but a better option for the more discerning funkster is Dad Man Cat, which eschews some of the more painfully cheesy vocal work of the later albums.
