Corey Ray DiGiovanni has spent nearly 2 decades developing his art as an American singer, songwriter, and performer. Raised in Poughkeepsie NY he spent most of his early years touring with bands and studying with renowned vocal coach Don Lawrence, who has worked with many successful artists such as Billy Joel, Bon Jovi,Christina Aguilara. In the early nineties, Corey joined the group Pound as their lead vocalist and co writer. In 1999 they released their debut album, Same Old Life. The album's lead single, "Upside Down", was co written by Corey, and went on to become a rock radio hit in America, reaching 16 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart that year. Though he and the band parted ways Corey continued to write music while doing live performances with his own band and studying with a new vocal coach Greg Drew (Lenny Kravitz). With a passion for songwriting and recording, Corey began to draw the attention of producers and engineers including Neil Perry (Smashing Pumpkins, Five For Fighting). Corey focused his time recording an immense library of music with Neil. Neil recorded Corey s independent release Elevator , a song that went on to reach top 10 CMJ music charts nationwide and began to tour in response to the growing independent attention. Corey has since continued to write music and release records on an independent level, working with many industry talents like: Producer/Mix Engineer Johnathan Mover (Fuel, Alice Cooper, Mick Jagger, Oleander) Producer/Mix Engineer Steven Haigler (Fuel, Brand New, Pixies), John OMahony (Cold Play, System of a Down, Dashboard Confessional). In addition to the Producers, Engineers, and Artists, Corey also credits all of his band members through out the years, attorneys, managers, radio DJs, program directors, family, friends, and huge amount of fan support as the key to his longevity in music.
