"I am a fan of countertenors (Scholl, Bowman, Deller, Visse, Jacobs) but I have to say that this album was a complete dissapointment! This album is a joke!!!I especially like Andreas Scholl voice and although in this album his voice is as great as usual I would advice that anyone wanting to listen to really great examples of this countertenor's voice look elsewhere! Try instead one of the many albums of Bach's cantatas where he has appeared, or maybe his Handel arias album called "Ombra mai fu", or even his "Heroes" album!"
Very entertaining

"This offering, compiled on the heels of the mightily successful "three tenors," does not disappoint if one takes it for what is is: a spoof. And what a wonderful spoof this is! The three vocalists here sing pieces outside of their normal repertory (which is early music and baroque). Yet, the singers are both technically impressive and genuinely entertaining while they are at it. In fact, Pleurez Mes Yeux and Habanera (as well as the little comical vignette Je sui grisse) are so perfect that it's not even funny anymore. Male voices, in comparison to females', offer lesser vibrato and greater tonal variety. Sometimes, when listening to this, I catch myself on a thought that the medieval people who eschewed female singers were on to something. P.S. I'm a female, so no misogyny there."

"YUK! YUK! AND DOUBLE YUK!!!!
I am absolutely mystified as to why Andreas Scholl, with his fine voice, would be a part of this type of album. It's disgraceful! The voice of Visse is annoying to the point of agony and one hopes that listeners who hear countertenors for the first time on this album won't give up on them.
Bertin is passably good but the biggest disappointment is Scholl. The song selections are inane in that they do not fit the voices. To hear "My Way" sung by any countertenor is ludicrous; I hope Frankie isn't listening.
The only song I found attractive was "White as Lilies" sung by Scholl. If you love countertenors don't buy this CD. It downright degrading to the countertenor voice and repertoire!!!!!"

"The arrangements and orchestrations on this album belong to a soft rock radio station or an elevator rather than to a classical music collection."
A must for all opera fans. "The 3 Tenors", please retire!

"What a wonderful, funny and comic send up this is. "O Sole mio" puts a smile on once face and what is wrong with that. Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras can you please retire at once! Andreal Scholl's "Habanera"(Bizet's Carmen) is beautifully sung. Watch out girls, in the right costume he will out sing you all. In "Pleurez, mes yeux"(Massenet's Le Cid)Dominique Visse does a touching redering of this aria. Where does he get those high notes from? "Maria"(Bernstein) not a successful fill up. P. Bertin's voice and presentation of Dalila's big aria "Reponds a ma tendresse" from Samson & Dalila (Saint-Saens)leaves one completely num. It is stunningly beautiful! Samson watch out! "White as Lilies" (Scholl) a very pleasant little tune with pleasant enough lyrics. "Je suis grise" (Offenbach)very, very funny. "My Way" (P.Anka) not a success. "Una Furtiva lagrima"(Donizetti)amusing, well sung but I would have chosen something else by Donizetti for a finale on this CD. Overall, the "boys" gives us a fantastic send up and leaves us, their listeners in a very good mood. Do not take this CD to seriously because this is comedy and can we have more!"
