We have truely lost a treasure in Country Dick Montana!

"I grabbed this CD from the used section of a music store. It was definitely a bargain! Starting with Indigo Rider to the end with Only Whore Around Country Dick Montana cranks it out. It is truely sad that this is all we will get from Country Dick. Country Dick's music will make you laugh, cry and scream for more! His unique deep voice along with some excellent musicians combine to produce what I think is a great CD. It has become one of the favorites in my collection. For something different and entertaining, I heartily recommend The Devil Lied To Me. Country Dick's lyrics are very creative and have a Frank Zappa flavor without being so outright filthy. Add this CD to your collection and enjoy!"

"While recording with the Beat Farmers, Dick was always good for a laugh, even if it was a drunken one.And there ARE plenty of laughs on this, Dick's (sadly) posthumous record. But let's face it, songs that just make you laugh only stay fresh for so long, concert performances notwithstanding (after all, when's the last time you played that old Weird Al tape you used to think was so hilarious??). And while Dick can crack you up with "King Of The Hobos" and other tracks, it's the amazingly touching tracks that make me keep going back to this record time and again, even two years after it's release. Songs like "Anywhere" about a man who feels he has no choice but to keep moving on, because no one has given him a reason to stay. And the most heart-wrençhing song of them all, "I Wanted You To Know", in which Ol' Lonesome Dick tells his true love ever-so matter-of-factly that no matter what, he'll always love her, and if she ever changes her mind about leaving him behind, he'll be loving her still. It's kind of like finding out that the class clown (or, in this case, class drunk) really does have a heart of gold. It's too bad that he had to wait until just weeks before he died (and he DID know he was dying soon) before he felt he could show that side to us."
Country Dick lives on

"Country Dick Montana was a giant of a man as well as a performer. His stage antics are legendary. He led the BEAT FARMERS musical pleasure machine to become America's favorite bar band. Although this was released after he died on stage during the 3rd song of there tour of Canada, his fans still get a chuckle ever time we hear the deep voice of Dick.
The Home Of Country Dick Montana was a rare radio only EP that was released only to morning DJs but has been rescued from the stacks. This album is its cousin. Enjoy! November 8, 1995- we miss you Dick but your music and spirit lives on in every maggot out there! Thanks, you dirt bag......"
