"I'm one of those people who enjoyed Creedence front to back. They could do no wrong, they were American originals. That said...



...Cosmo's Factory is an album, an experience, in the same way that Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Remastered) is an experience and Tommy is an experience. No, it's not a "rock opera," and it's not a "concept album." The only concept here is good music, written well and performed with fire. You don't buy this one to get "one or two good songs," because they're ALL heavy hitters. All killer, no filler. The bonus tracks are great, but the album is a must-have, with or without them.



It's not even worth doing a track-by-track review, because every one is a winner. Let's just say that Fogerty is one of the FEW performers to tackle a Motown song, turn it inside out, and emerge a winner (all 11 ferocious minutes of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine"...tough, bluesy, swampy). "Ramble Tamble" continues the "Hellhound On My Trail" sense of blues foreboding, while EVERY other track...EVERY single one...found its way onto FM radio airwaves when the original album was released.



It's mighty, it's beautiful, it's a cherished relic from the time capsule that has not diminished a BIT with age. Stop reading this and buy your copy NOW."
