"The hard rocking goth style of this band had evolved since LETTERS FROM FIRE, the first album. Featuring an amazing voice (Nell) and a dark norwegian romantic songs mix with powerfull guitar riffs are exellent. A record to buy now. NOW!"

"And I listen to this CD when I want something on the softer side of Gothic. Most of my listening tends more toward power but every once in awhile it can get a little tiring and that is when Vain City Chronicles gets a spin. Because it is relatively easy going, it makes good background music, sometimes reminding me of 70's easy rock, especially when the singer uses her soft voice, which seems to be most of the time. There are occasions when she cranks it up a notch but not often enough for me to give her more than three stars. And the lyrics (example: "A blood-stained rubber duck, I really shouldn't swim these waters.") aren't something I can sing along with, which is another reason it makes good background music for me. But since I do listen to it occasionally, it meets my criteria for three marks. (Please see my profile for a brief discussion of my rating philosophy.)"

"Their previous album Letters of Fire was a great album, but this one is good as well. One thing I noticed they changed the music quite a lot. This album has heavier guitars and good bass. Once again Nell beautiful delicate vocals are in it. A good album to listen"
