"Let it be known, Cris Williamson can really, really, really SING! Her warm, honest, and beautiful voice, coupled with her heart-felt, poetic, and truly meaningful songwriting, make this album an instant classic! From the opening tune, you'll feel a sense of "Ah..." - it's like slipping into your favorite, most comfortable jacket. This c.d. is simply gorgeous! Cris is perhaps best-known for her classic album, "The Changer and the Changed" (also a must-have for any music library!) "Fringe" is sure to evoke similiar feelings in the listener, stirring the emotions at every turn. There are lovely surprises through-out; from the raw passion of the title track, to her tear-jerking duet with Teresa Trull about the loss of a beloved horse, "One Wing Through the Wall"; Cris delivers pure beauty and emotion on every song. "Alazan", "Murder of Crows" and "High Lonesome" will have you tapping and drumming and singing along in no time! Cris surrounds herself with many of her incredibly talented friends here - Barbara Higbie, Julie Wolf, Vicki Randal and Teresa Trull, to name a few. Do your heart (and your music collection) a favor - get this remarkable treasure now!!"

"This CD is incredible. I can't stop listening to it. Cris' eloquent poetic lyrics combined with interesting beautiful music makes this CD, in my opinion, one of her best!
For those who know her music, that's a significant statement. I adore and cherish "Changer and the Changed" and generally have most of the 6 CD slots in my car filled with her music, but I find myself over and over again hitting the buttons until I get to this one. The title song "Fringe" is just amazing.
For those new to Cris Williamson, order this CD and "Changer and the Changed" and I'll say welcome to the Cris Williamson fan club because you will be one. I once read a quote from Bonnie Rait where she described Cris' voice "like honey on a cello." Perfect description.
Thank you, Cris, for sharing your extraordinary gifts with us yet again.

"My family and I are completely in love with this CD! Cris' rich, warm voice is the perfect winter treat to sing along with about love and adventure and the peace of honoring the wild. I have laughed outloud with the song about the woman craving for the holy grail of the big seed catalog in the dead of winter. My young son asks for the NEW LULLABYE, which conjures up the horses coming to take him to his dream world (and yes, his dreams are entirely full of horses)every night before he is ready for bed. I know many folks like the cowboy-girls in the songs on this CD and will be giving it for many holiday gifts. I just hope I get myself another copy before we wear this one out."

"What a classic album.
If you are familiar with Cris's work, then this is a must for your collection. As always, such well crafted songs, crystal clear production, and that voice!
Personal favorites, the title track 'Fringe' and 'Alazan'.
If you are not familiar with Cris's work, save yourself some time and postage and get 'The Essential Cris Williamson' or 'The Changer and The Changed' as well. This will get you started. Oh and you'd better bookmark this page."
Still Brilliant

"Well, I'm back for two more gift CD's. Fringe is music that everybody will love. It launches with a sensuous "Oh" yanking you into the sweet tempo of Alazan. I couldn't get that song out of my head. Cris is a philosopher and much of what seems to easily slip off her tongue leaves you seeing the pictures - the movie, the book, the life. This CD is all about the mastery of voice returning to the memories of a child who was born to sing. Nobody can sing a lullaby like Cris. She makes a child's song emotional, comforting and a little sad. I defy you to hear High Lonesome and not close your eyes, and spin joining Cris with "na,na,na,na,." But, beware, if you are a horse lover because she reaches in and hauls out your tears with tributes to long-beloved lost horses. These songs remind me of Mary Pipher's statement: "I learned to depend on the natural world for comfort and entertainment." We get it Cris. We love it."
