Cris Williamson's fourteenth release RePlay contains twelve tracks adapted from two previous releases. The opening song DelRae, an uplifting yet haunting introduction to this magnificent album, whose lyrics were lifted up unchanged from a true life travelogue. The upbeat reggae infused Keeper, and the African influenced Hunter Gatherers, reminiscent of Paul Simon's Diamonds on the Souls of Her Shoes, stirs the heart and inspires the listener to '..live as the poets we are', to the anthemic beauty of the final track Brand New Lullaby, a lullaby about lullabies. RePlay is an album of dynamically soul stirring tracks, imaginative and inspired arrangements, and delightfully stunning imagery. It is a gorgeous presentation of twelve exquisite songs with liner notes for each written by Cris Williamson.
