"This must be the disc in my collection that I've heard the most. Inspired playing of a very sensible collection of french piano masterworks. Cristina Ortiz has a very natural affinity for this music and even comparing her to the likes of Gieseking she comes out shining. Listening to these pieces played with such charm and virtuosity, from Ibert's comical "Le petit Ane Blanc" to Fauré's dreamy and flowing "Impromptu no. 3" or from Debussy's earhanger "Clair De Lune" to Ravel's proud and stinging "Alborada del gracioso" not to mention Poulenc's "Melancolie" (which speaks for itself), you realize the versatility of both french piano literature and of Cristina Ortiz talents. This is a cd to make you want to investigate all of Debussy's, Ravel's, Poulenc's, Chabrier's, Ibert's and Satie's works. What a pity you can't find more of this material with the same pianist. This is a cd that's crying out for a reissue - and while you're at it why not include Cristina Ortiz other recordings, not the least her recording of Childrens Corner by Debussy. Full marks for this one!"
