"Joe Sample the mastermind of the jazz/funk group the Crusaders has always been generous when it came to offering songs to sing by guest vocalists on his Crusader albums. This import is a must own compilation of some of the best tunes ever waxed on Crusader albums. Randi Crawford sings the signature crusader tune "Street Life" and it only gets better. The great B.B King gets his licks in on "Hold On" and "Better Not Look Down". The most touching moment is a song that Joe Sample wrote for Joe Cocker the autobiographical "I'm So Glad I'm Standing Here Today". The song was performed by Cocker and the Crusaders at the 1981 Grammy awards causing the entire celebrity audience to respond with a standing ovation. This compilation is a much better choice than the "Vocal Collection" which has fewer tracks and is pricier. At 13.99 you can't go wrong with this import which is a display case for the talent of Joe Sample. Also highly recommended is the "Royal Jam", a live concert recorded in England which features B.B King jamming the night away with the Crusaders."
