CD ReviewsThis group rocks 11/22/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "I originally heard of this band when my brother went to a concert witha friend who was seeing Pist*Ons. His firends was corresponding with a member of that band when he saw them perform. He brought home a tape of the music and I instantly fell in love. This CD rocks and has so far functioned as an all around soundtrack for my life especially "Incandescance" and "Velvet Skin". The music is great witha great beat and it's hard and soft at the same time. I throughly reccomend it." Cool, unpretentious heavy rock 07/17/1998 (4 out of 5 stars) "The band I play with opened for Crushed when they played in Seattle; before that, I'd never even heard of them. Wow, have I been missing out. Seems there's just not much good straight-ahead heavy rock anymore; everything slots into either the alternative or death metal categories. Crushed bridges the gap neatly--in addition, I can attest that they're a great live band. Check 'em out!" Heavy music with melodic vocals 06/26/1998 (5 out of 5 stars) "Crushed is a great band from Arizona. If you like the aggressive attack of "Prong" or "Pantera" with a diverse vocalist that can be gruff and melodic within the same song; you should buy this disc. There is a variety of musical styles included on this self titled release. Songs that make you want to mosh and others that are slower with crescendos. Some of the best guitar tone I have ever heard. Great musicians that aren't hopping on the next bandwagon. A must have for anyone who likes alternative to death metal. Crushed seems to ride the fence between the two if there is one that big. Check out "Lit" if you are into the heavy and "Incandescence" if you are into hook laden melody. My personal favorite is "Crescent Dragon Wagon" that has a steady groove with great double bass and catchy chorus.. Download the real audio player and listen to the disc yourself. I am sure you will agree with me. A very diverse album for those who don't fit any mold. Marty Jiunta "Dysfunktional""
